Al Taqaddum

I arrived at Al Taqaddum four days ago.

TQ is a nice base. The chow hall serves 3 hot meals a day. There are real showers with hot water. Most of the officers have there own room. Every one sleeps in an air-conditioned space. I am now the S-4 Logistics Officer and Camp Commandant for Lakeside. Camp Commandant is responsible for facilities maintenance.
Overall I think it is going to be a fun and productive 7 months.

Hey Nick!

Stay safe.

My son will also be heading your way to TQ early next year in the next MWSS rotation - he's in Yuma right now on a 2-week work-up. MOTOR-T!

We (mom & dad) will sure be reading your posts trying to get smart on what he's facing, and praying for all Marines in indian country.

You're not alone.

Hello Nick:
Say Hi for me to my son who just recently arrived at Al Taqaddum. His name is Daniel Lesley and he is a doctor on base, servicing the Marine Helicopter technicians and others.
I don't think they have started yet, as it seems the previous group has not yet left.
Thinking about you all and your mothers and fathers and families.
Good luck and thanks,
Marlene Lesley

Marlene,
I would say hi, but I returned to the US in March 2006. Hopefully your son will be home long before I have to go back.

Dear Nick:
thanks for responding to me. I appreciate it. Hope you don't have to go back at all, at all.

I found your site because I was looking for informatino on Al Taqaddum--my boyfriend is going there in early 2007. I don't know if you still use this page, but if you do, respond to this message because my boyfriend is also in the Logistics department!
